What is meant by it?

Lymphatic massage (lymph drainage) is a special type of massage, that improves lymphatic outflow; if used regularly, it prevents lymph stagnation in the tissues, stimulates the immune system, promotes removal of waste materials, thus facilitating regeneration of cells and tissues, decreasing susceptibility to inflammation, and promoting healing of existing wounds and inflammations.*

What types are there?

What are the contraindications?

  • Acute inflammatory processes, acute skin infections, as pathogens may spread from local foci to the whole of the body.
  • When thrombosis is suspected - small particles may detach from the thrombus, potentially causing pulmonary embolism as they drift away.
  • Shortly after a heart attack (cardiac infarct).
  • Pulmonary oedema.
  • Acute heart failure.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Untreated hypertension.*
